My mom had created this scavenger hunt for all the grand kids, thinking we might be short on things to do (not!), which was really fun and quite successful for everyone involved. She coordinated with her office, the local drugstore photo lady (who she knows well), her chiropractor, her dentist, and a couple other locations she frequents, so they could give each team something when they came in. Some places she actually bought stuff and pre-placed the items and some places the kids had to get something from them, like a toothbrush from the dentist. Each team had one teenager, one elementary kid, and one preschooler...oh and one driver and one chaperon (or navigator - in my case - since I didn't know where everything was). Each team also had an envelope with the 6 clues. They had to figure out where to go and what to get. It was a lot of fun. This was our team, which was Savannah, my nephew Andrew, and Levi, leaving the chiropractor, with the required brochure.
After the hunt, we were to meet at the community center and play in the water play area, while someone went to get lunch for everyone. After the water play and lunch, we played in the park for awhile. The kids all had a blast.
Later that day, my mom's dog, a great dane, was having some medical problems so she had to take him into the vet. The rest of the day we just hung out at my mom's house...oh and I cooked dinner that night. Oh, and I got to visit with my aunt for a couple hours, which was really nice. The next day, we went to a kids' interactive museum in a town about 45 minutes away. We've been there before, but it's so much fun and only costs $5 per person! So worth it! :-)
Right inside the door, there's a mini firehouse with engine, bell, pole, and costumes. We had to stop there first, of course.
Then, Levi became a dentist, with white lab coat and all. What's funny is that Levi is forever asking to see people's teeth. We don't' know why since he's never been to the dentist himself, but he always wants people to open their mouths so he can see their teeth. Needless to say, he really liked this room.
A little later, we had a puppet show. My nephew (above) and Indy (below) did the show, which was really funny that we could see them the whole time. We kept telling them to hide, but they wanted to see us laugh, I guess.

There was this really cool magnetic board where the kids could make the cars at the top with shapes. The boys really liked that.
But, they liked this even more, especially the little guys. It was a mini restaurant where the kids could make all sorts of food things and serve the people at the counter or tables. It was so cute! Here's Levi and my other nephew making dinners for us.

And, of course there was the obligatory grocery store, where we spent a good amount of time, too.
They had a cool bubble room, where there was a giant bubble machine that you could stand inside.

After we left the museum, we went to lunch and then gem mining on the way home. (I told you we were busy on this trip!!) Here's Ashton working on her digging.

Nicky helped Indy and I helped Levi. Indy did pretty good, but Levi just wanted to play with the rocks. Big surprise!! lol
"Oooo, Look!" He was impressed with all the rocks, not just the pretty ones. I think they were all pretty to him!
