Home Again, Home Again, Jiggity Jog...

Yes, we finally made it home again. Whew! We actually arrived on Saturday night....late. And, yesterday was spent, predictably, unpacking, washing, and preparing for the week ahead. So, this is actually the first chance I've had to do any real blogging. Man, does stuff happen when you're not paying attention! I've just spent the last 30-45 minutes catching up on some of my regular blog reads and have they all been busy! At least two have gone on vacations, two are doing home improvements, and one even had a baby! Boy, are you people doing some stuff!! lol



Ok, so the vacation... we spent the week at my mom's house in NC, along with my brother and his family. All of (well, most anyway) my extended family live there, so when we visit, it's great to spend time with all the cousins and other family members. Needless to say, this week was cram-packed with activities, but boy, was it fun! We still couldn't fit everything we wanted to do into the one little week, but we'll plan that for first thing next time.


When we arrived on late Friday night to my moms, Ashton was so excited to see us! Remember she had been there for two weeks since youth camp in the beginning of July and hadn't seen us since she left for camp three weeks earlier, so she was very happy. This is what met us...

Ashton had used sidewalk chalk to write this while waiting for our arrival. It was so cute and what a wonderful greeting!!

The very next day we had three, yes 3, birthday parties to attend!! lol We just partied all day! First we had a family party at a local park at 11:30, for my cousin's son, who was turning 6 that day. He was born just 10 days before Indy! Interesting since my cousin is actually 11 years younger than me!! lol Anyway, that was the first time we got to see all the family and it was a lot of fun!

Here is one of my nephews with Levi "fighting" with the Incredible Hulk gloves my cousin's son (Luke) got for his birthday. The boys just loved those gloves...so did the adults!! lol And, they make crash, bang, boom sounds while you're hitting with them. Too funny! Let me just give you a basic run down of this family....I first had 2 daughters, then after that, it was the end of the girls. Since then between me, my brother, and our cousins, we have 6 boys, all under the age of 9. Makes for a VERY interesting family reunion! :-)

This was party #2, where the boy, who is a friend of the family, was also turning 6, that same day. His family is very close to ours and generally they come to all the family events, so just add another 6 year old boy to the mix. That makes 1-9 year old, 4- 6 year olds, and 2- 4 year olds....all boys!

Anyway, at this party, the mom had hired this awesome balloon girl to make stuff for the kids. She had the best sense of humor and whit and was really good with the kids. They just loved her...so did I! I wish I lived there cuz I'd definitely hire her, too!! This is Indy with his hat. Later she made him a monkey on a palm tree.

Levi had a hat, too, but he liked his fishing pole and fish better. This was so cute and the lady said that when the fish popped to tell him it was a worm. lol I thought that was so funny! The fish never did pop!

This was party #3 at my aunt and uncle's house for my uncle's birthday. They have a little hill in the backyard, a perfect place for the slip-n-slide! Here's 4 of the boys lined up ready to slide!

Later, we had watermelon! Yum! And, then a seed-spitting contest. Too bad the watermelon was a seedless one, with only little tiny little seeds.

This is me and my aunt. She's only 11 years older than me, which makes her one year closer to me than her own sister (my mom who's 12 years older than my aunt!). She's always been like a big sister to me, rather than an aunt. She's a lot of fun!

After dinner, we took the little guys for a walk through my aunt's neighborhood, where there's some construction going on. They boys climbed up on one of the bulldozer things, which you know was a great thrill for them! Here they're hamming it up for the camera.

Well, that was the first day. Tomorrow I'll work on day two. We did some really interesting things, so stay tuned! See ya then!

PS-Boy am I glad to be home! It's fun to go on vacation, but it's great to come home!! :-) Ahhh, my own bed..... :-)
