Gametime!

Today was Indy's first teeball game. It was sooo cute seeing all the little kiddies in their uniforms. They looked so little! They play 3 inning games (or 1 hour, whichever comes first). Each team gets to bat and they go through the whole batting order. Everyone gets to bat before they change sides, even if they get three outs. So, the other team got first ups and they went through their whole batting order. Then, we went up to bat. After two of our team batted, there was a huge clap of thunder and some lightning, so they stopped the game immediately. They had planned to wait a few minutes, to see what happened, but there was no letting up of the lightning, so they just called the game. Bummer, cuz Indy didn't get to bat. He took it very well and was just happy that they got to play at all. The game before them was completely cancelled because the field was under water from this morning's rain. So, at least they got to warm up and play half an inning. The good thing about baseball is that there are a ton of games. He told his Daddy that he played the Rats, but it wasn't the Rats, it was the Mets. Too funny. Also, he asked who won the game. How do you explain that they don't keep score and there is no winners or losers. Well, actually, they tell them that everyone is the winners. So, he told his Daddy that his team was the winners because everyone is the winners. Too bad all of life isn't like that, huh??
