While my mom was here, we took her on a buggy ride in the Everglades. This was the first time she'd ridden on a buggy in many, many years. It was a fun day. This picture is of our friend, Steve's buggy. He was riding in front of us. This shows him on the trail going through the muddy water. Oh, and Ashton was riding with him.
This is our buggy, nicknamed The Bus. My mom and Indy are sitting on it. The tires about 4.5 ft. tall, so you can imagine how big it is. This is very good when we drive by alligators! lol
Potty break! I thought this was so funny!
As we drove, we could see how bare the cypress trees are. They were beautiful against this vibrant blue sky. I thought this was a neat picture.
Savannah on the ride.
Guess what we saw?? There were two does and one yearling. They were gorgeous and it was so cool to see them! This was a real treat, especially during hunting season.
What was that noise?!
Watch as the yearling runs away. With the deer excitement over, we began to head back in, and happened upon a stuck buggy. This is very common during this time of year when the water is drying up and it's becoming more mucky. As a matter of fact, both Steve and we got stuck earlier in the day. Anyway, this guy was really stuck and his friend who was trying to pull him out, broke his winch cable, so he was in big trouble. Nicky & Steve stopped to help the guy out. It turned out to be a lot trickier than originally thought. Eventually, we lined Steve's buggy, the guy with the broken cable, and then us as an anchor. It was pretty funny, but got even more comical when two more buggies stopped to see if we needed more help. When we said no, they stopped anyway to take pictures!! lol
Here is Nicky walking between buggies. Isn't the background beautiful?
Ashton watching all the action.
The stuck buggy. You see how deep down his back tire is?? You can barely even see it!
Getting ready to line up.
I took this one while standing up on our buggy. I just love the picturesque view.

Overall, it was a very eventful and fun day. If you want to learn a little more about this part of the Everglades, check out my 3 part "pictorial tutorial" here, here, and here.
