New Kids on the Block

Well, Savannah's been at it again! lol Yesterday, we were driving through an adjoining neighborhood and she spotted two puppies wandering aimlessly, together. They were headed for a busy street and she was afraid they'd get hit, so she begged me to let her take them in my van, "Just til we can find the owners. I don't want to keep them." Yeah, right. I've heard that one before! lol

They're two female American Bulldogs (No, they're not pitbulls. We asked the vet.) We took them to the vet to see if there were any chips or tattoos in them. There were none, of course. Last night, we went by two Publix's and a PetSmart to see if there were any signs. Not yet. Hopefully we'll find the owners soon. The vet said they'd put up a sign and after 30 days, if no one called, they're ours. (Oh, pullleeeez call me!!!) They're really cute and super sweet. The one on the left is tiger striped and mostly calm. She listens and they both already come to the names Savannah gave them...Athena and Lola. Don't ask. I have no idea what her motivation was, but hey, at least we don't have to go through the day in and day out of agonizing over a name for a dog that will run away (like Shiloh!). The one on the right is more plain looking, but she is a real character. She's the one who pushes the limits. She's the one who starts the wrestling sessions with the other one. That's Lola. Savannah has claimed Athena for herself and Indy and Ashton have claimed Lola. How ironic that I seem to be the one cleaning up all the "accidents" the puppies have, huh?? We figure they're about 3 months old or so, but they really are cute...and so sweet.
