Truly Never a Dull Moment!

Well, let's see, we've had yet another exciting 48 hours.

On Monday night, Savannah discovered that her new, baby snake (which she paid for with her own money...whew!) had died. He'd had a respiratory infection for about a week, but she's only had him for about 3 weeks! So, he finally kicked the bucket. She was more upset that she'd lost her own money than that he'd died. I thought that was pretty funny! So, what does she do? Put him in a ziploc and stick him in the freezer (which I had told her to do). Unfortunately, Ashton didn't know we'd done that, so kinda freaked when she saw the snake in the freezer! lol

Yesterday, at park, a lady brought a small boys' bike to me for Indy or Levi. Now, last year, we got a bike from another friend, which is an aluminum bike, thus will last forever. Sadly, Indy was too small for it and probably will be until he's about 9!! We did buy him some training wheels for it, but he just didn't feel secure on it, since he couldn't touch the ground....and it was pretty wobbly. So, basically, he's never ridden a bike. When she gave it to me, I showed it to Indy and told him it was for him. He was so excited and walked away with it. I was going to tell him to wait til I could show him how to ride it, but decided I'd let him play with it to get familiar with it. Within 3 minutes, he was riding it....all on his own!! I couldn't believe it! As a matter of fact, no one could believe it. He was literally riding like he'd been riding for a year! And, using the brakes and all! I was completely amazed. I guess it's true that when they're ready, they're ready!!

Also at park yesterday, Ashton was playing with some friends, and while running, ran into a metal bar she didn't see....right in her face! She hit the right side of her jaw and cheek and has a reddish bruise on her face. She also has pain in her mouth & face, radiating up into her ear and head, neck, and shoulder. Yuck! And, worse yet, when she hit the bar, she fell to the ground and in so doing, re-sprained the same ankle she sprained two weeks ago! Poor thing. She was in a lot of pain, so I once again, made a trip to the urgent care center. They x-rayed her ankle and face/head. Everything was fine, but I knew she'd be stiff and in pain today. And, she is. She's been taking Motrin all day. Poor thing. She feels terrible. I'll get a picture of the ankle brace they gave her.

Then, after park yesterday, I took Savannah back to the pet shop where she bought her snake (the manager knows us oh too well! lol). She also took the little mouse she'd just bought for him a couple days ago, because it might get sick, too. Well, I don't really know why we took it back, but whatever. So, anyway, he gave Savannah a brand new baby (though a little older, thus heartier) snake....for free! Whoo hoo! She was so happy. She then came home and cleaned out the cage with bleach for the new snake, so he wouldn't get sick, too.

Well, I guess that's it for now. Man, when it rains it pours, right??

Oh my goodness. A brave woman you are! I can't believe you allow them to have snakes in the house. If my kids ever want them I'll send them to live with you! 'Cause there will never ever be snakes in this house!
